Biography
Murray MacKay was the son of Stanley and Nina (nee Saul) of Thamesford. He was born in Thamesford, Ontario on February 13, 1934 and enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy. Murray was very proud of the fact that at one time he was the youngest Petty Officer in all of Canada. He served on several ships as an Electrician's Mate from 1952-1957. Those ships were the HMCS Prevost, HMCS Cornwallis, HMCS Stadacona, HMCS Magnificient (Aircraft Carrier) and the HMCS Quebec which as a cruiser. On August 11, 1957 he married Marilyn Caldwell and they resided for many years on the MacKay family homestead at Lot 14 and part Lot 13 Concession 2 of West Zorra Township, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. They raised four children - Heather, Scott, Karen and Jamie.
