Biography

John James (Jim) MacKay was the son of Nina (Saul) and Stanley MacKay of Thamesford, Ontario.  He served from January of 1944 to December 1945 on HMCS Prevost ON, HMCS Cornwallis, HMCS Stadacona, HMCS Shelburne NS, HMCS Jonquire, and HMCS Peregrine at sea.  Following the war he was a private pilot and worked on maintenance for Air Canada for 35 years.  He married Mary Betteridge. James MacKay is buried in the North Embro Cemetery.
