Biography
Andrew McNeil Williams was born March 28, 1977, in Woodstock, son of Stephanie (Adair) and Peter Williams. While the family lived on Lot 10, Concession 1, Andrew went to Zorra Highland Park Public School and Woodstock Collegiate Institute. Then he studied fish and wildlife in Sault Ste. Marie, but when he couldn’t find work in that field, on Sept. 10, 2001, he joined the Canadian Forces as a Meteorological Technician (weatherman). He has since been posted to St. Jean, Que.; Comox on Vancouver Island; Winnipeg; Halifax; and the Arctic. In 2005 he did a tour in Afghanistan and was then stationed at Petawawa. After volunteering for a friend to do a second tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2007 he was then moved to Halifax Nova Scotia and assigned as the Weather Technician on the H.M.C.S.Iroquois. Here he mainly travels from Halifax to the Bahamas checking for drug runners along the East Coast. The Iroquois was part of a flotilla that went to Europe for The Battle of Atlantic celebrations in 2013. Andrew arrived home for some well deserved leave and will be sailing again in August 2013.
