Biography

E. Symons Muir (1919-1998) of 60 Commissioner St., Embro, enlisted on August 16, 1943, at Wolesley Barracks in London. He trained near Red Deer, Alta., and Windsor, N.S. prior to being sent to Britain, where he was stationed at Beverly and Aldershot. As a driver with the Army Service Corps he delivered supplies to bases throughout England. He spent most leaves travelling throughout England with his brother Henry (Scoot) and friend Bob McDonald. On April 30, 1946, he was discharged from service. In 1970 he returned to Britain and toured the army bases where he had been stationed.
