Biography
Hugh McLeod (born January 1908) was a son of Donald A. and Isabella Alice (nee Hossack) McLeod, who had the feed mill, and that later became the Co-op. He listed his wife Catherine as next of kin. Hugh was a merchant on Huron Street in Embro. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps, and served as a CANLOAN officer with the City of Glasgow Regiment in the Highland Light Infantry, 1st Division, British Army. He died of wounds on July 26, 1944, and is buried in Brouay War Cemetery in Calvodas, France.
