Biography

Alex McCorquo­dale was born October 22, 1886, a son of David J. and Frances (Howes) McCorquo­dale of Lots 15 and 16, Concession 2 West Zorra Township. The family moved to Winnipeg after the death of his sister Annie, and that was where Alex was living when he enlisted on January 7, 1918. A Billing Clerk, he was serving with the 52nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry, when he was wounded in action at Cambrai, France, on Oct. 1, 1918. He was discharged in June 1919 with a full disability pension.
