Cecil William Kerr, born Oct. 15, 1895, a son of Neil and Florence (Kirk) Kerr of Lot 31, Concession 6, West Zorra. He stated he was a Presbyterian and unmarried farmer when he enlisted on May 23, 1918. Upon returning from the war he worked for the Oxford County Roads department. On December 27, 1924 he married Edna Lois Symons and they rented property at Lot 16, Concession 5. In July 1927 they moved to 80 Commissioners Street in Embro, Ontario. Cecil was a 32 degree Mason, Past Master of Thistle Lodge, a member of Rose Croix and Eastern Star and Past President of the Zorra Caledonian Society
