Biography

Elgin Hutchison was born on April 25, 1908 in Blandford Township, the son of Edward Thomas and Violet Geneva (nee Bean) Hutchison.  His two brothers Arthur Thomas and Joseph Edward "Lorne" also served in WW 11.  Elgin served overseas from July 1943 until February 1946 in Sicily, Italy, Belgium and Holland.  His rank was Corporal and he was a driver with the 25th Canadian Tanks Corps.  After returning to Canada aboard the RMS Queen Elizabeth in 1946 he was employed at the Ontario Regional Centre in Woodstock.  After the war he lived at 134 St. Andrew St., Embro.  Elgin was married to Helen Malcolm, Dorothy Webb/Rudy and Viola German.
