Biography

Douglas Gordon is said to have been born on Aug. 9, 1898, in Embro, son of John and Frances M. (Lovegrove) Gordon. When he enlisted on Jan. 31, 1916, he did so under the name Gordon McDonald because he considered his father to be Alexander McDonald, the man who raised him. He also stated his date of birth as August 31, 1896. After the war, Douglas moved to Windsor.
