Biography
Breda Halls of Hounslow, Middlesex, England joined the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in 1941. She received her basic training at Gloucester and her training as a pay clerk at Penarth, South Wales. She served on Royal Air Force stations on Thorney Island near Portsmouth, Stranraer, Scotland, Halton in Buckinghamshire and Redding, England. She met her future husband Terence Baker at Camp Bognor Regis early in the war and they were married May 28, 1945. Mrs. Baker came to Canada aboard the Queen Mary in May 1946, arriving in Halifax on their first wedding anniversary. She and Terry raised 4 children - Deirdre, Michale, Gregory and David.
