Biography
Robert James Agar was a son of Samuel and Rose Agar, who rented property on Lot 33, Concession 1. He was a lead cook in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve. He died at age 28 on Nov. 25, 1944, aboard the H. M. C. S. Shawinigan, when it sank. His name is on the Halifax Memorial, among those of 3,257 Canadian men and women who are buried at sea. Robert’s wife was Dorothy Jean Agar. He was a twin to Charles, and their brother was Cecil.
