Biography
Arthur was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1924. He took basic training in Lethbridge, Edmonton, Alberta as a Navigator and Bomb Aimer. After going overseas he was at Wigtown, Scotland and with Squadron 298, Terrant Preston, Dorset, England. He flew in Sterling and Halifax aircraft and remained in England until the end of the war.
Upon returning to Canada he went to the Ontario College of Pharmacy in Toronto and graduated in l951. He worked for a few drug stores in London before coming to Thamesford and opening his own business called Varnum Drug Store. He worked there until he retired in 1988. Upon retiring he and his wife Isabell went to the Wartime Aircrew Re-Union in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He passed in 1990 and is buried at Zion Seventh Line Cemetery.
