Biography

Staff Sergeant Brock James "Butch" Shewan (1917-2003) was another son of Agnes (Karn) and James Brock Shewan. From July 1940 until February 1942, he was in the reserves with the Oxford Rifles. Active duty with the Oxford Rifles began at Wolseley Barracks in London in 1942. He was part of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Corps and served as an Armourer mainly on the Pacific coast at Prince George or Nanaimo, British Columbia. He was later stationed at Wainwright, Alberta and Camp Borden, Ontario before being discharged in February of 1946.
