Biography

Clayton W. Ironside was drafted in 1917 at which time he was a farmer in Ettrick, Ontario. Clayton served until 1919. He arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia on September, 1919 on the Minnekahda having sailed from Southampton, England. He was born in 1892 to Alfred and Evangeline of Middlesex County. Clayton was a long time store keeper in Kintore. He married Beatrice Margaret Hamilton of London, Ontario on June 28, 1922. They are buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.
