Biography

Guy John Goodhand was born in the Thamesford area and was the son of John Henry and Mary Ann (nee Loughin) Goodhand.  He listed his father John as next of kin when he enlisted in 1916 (#675682).  Then under  #3136081 he was drafted in May 1918 in London to 1st Depot Battalion and listed his wife Catherine (nee Collins) as next of kin.  After completing his term of service Guy farmed at R.R. #3 Ingersoll.  He and Catherine raised a family of 3 girls - Wilma, Isabel (Belle), and Lorraine; and 2 sons Neil and Thomas.  Guy is buried in Zion 7th Line Cemetery in the former West Nissouri Township.
