Biography
Ellis Roy Minogue was born in Cumberland June 25, 1921. He enlisted in the Canadian Army January 2, 1941 at Ottawa Ontario. Roy was with the Cameron Highlanders for approximately two years, and then transferred to IV Princess Louise Dragoon Guards for the reminder of the war. Here he drove armoured cars loaded with explosives. He served in Canada, Britain, Central Mediterranean and Northwest Europe. Before going to Italy he was also in North Africa and after Italy he was in Belgium and Germany. His medals and decorations include 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-45. Roy received an Honourable discharge on November 13, 1945 at London, Ontario.
