Biography
Thomas Earl Johnston was born on May 20, 1886 and he was the son of John Johnston. He joined “B” Co. 168th Battalion and served in the 21st Canadian Infantry Battalion in the field. At the time of his Attestation on February 27, 1916, Earl stated he was a butcher by trade, and that prior to enlistment he had served in Grey's Horse. After the war he and his wife raised their children on the farm at Lot 17 Concession 2. His daughter Olga and her husband Hugh Gordon would take over the farm and raise their three daughters and run Hugh’s well pump business.
