Biography
Nelson Andrew Hutcheson was born April 8, 1918. the son of Andrew and Edna (nee Fenton) Hutcheson of Beachville area. He attended Rutledge Public School and Dorchester Continuation School as well as Banner United Church and Sunday School. Nelson joined the Royal Canadian Regiment on October 3, 1939. He went to Val Cartier Camp and in November went overseas, and was stationed in England until May 1943. He landed in Sicily in July 1943 with the first troops. He was wounded at Ortona, Italy in January 1944. He returned to England and later to Canada where he continued service out of Wosley Barracks, London, Ontario. Nelson was discharged in October 1946. He married Marjorie Wright and they had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Nelson became an ordained United Church minister and spent his career in the West. He died February 26, 1991 and is buried at Rockhaven Cemetery in Saskatchewan.
