Ernest Mason was born December 1, 1898 in Beachville, Ontario. He attended Dickson’s School. He listed his next-of-kin as his mother Mrs. W. H. Holdon of Ingersoll, Ontario. Ernest was a machinist prior to his enlistment on January 31, 1916. He was enlisted in the 44th Battalion of the Army as a Private. He was killed in action September 28, 1918. His name is on a plaque in St. John’s Church in Thamesford, and also in Kintore.
